What is Christ-centered yoga, or “Christian” yoga?

Yoga is a spiritual practice, a discipline, and a way of life. Christ-centered yoga is a state of being yoked, connected, and united to God through Jesus. The path of yoga is an ancient system of gathering ourselves fully: body, mind, spirit, and soul in order to be fully attentive and present with God!

Here we learn about the path of yoga from a Christian perspective. Additionally, we consider how the practice can help Christians experience peace and awaken to the presence of God.

Many Christians wonder if practicing yoga is spiritually safe. The following blogs will dive into the controversy, myths, and truth about yoga. As a yoga teacher with 25 years of experience and a Christ-follower, I believe that yoga can greatly benefit the Christian lifestyle.

Our Christ-centered yoga blogs explore the following topics: postures of prayer, whether or not Christians should practice yoga, the benefits of yoga for Christians, practicing yoga during the Lent season, “Christian” yoga for kids, and more.

If you have more questions about whether or not it is spiritually safe for Christians to practice yoga and how yoga can help Christians be transformed to look more like Jesus, check out my free training tools, such as my Jesus and Yoga guide. All my free yoga resources are here.

Additionally, you can check out my seasonal courses to go deeper into the subject of “Christian” yoga. My on-demand and seasonal courses are here

Namaste & Imago Dei
