What is Christian living? In short, “Christian living” is living the life that Jesus wants us to live!

We know that Jesus came to give his followers an abundant life, full of peace, purpose, and the Presence of God. But how do follow Jesus into this world with our whole being: body, mind, spirit, & soul?

In these blog posts, we will consider what it means to embody our faith as followers of Christ. We will study the Bible and Christian theology to understand the meaning and principles of Christian living. Additionally, we will explore wisdom found in ancient yogic teachings in our quest to understand what it means to “abide in Christ.” We will answer the questions: how do we live in this world but not of this world?

Next, we will also learn about spiritual disciplines like Christ-centered yoga, meditation, contemplation, and prayer. Do ancient spiritual practices mix with Christian living?

The following blogs will explore how these spiritual practices can help us be transformed to look more like Christ. How do these practices foster spiritual growth that inspires us to live a more abundant Christian spiritual life? Start reading now to learn more.

Love the Creator, Love His Creation…

Today is Earth day, and I am passionate about God's Creation.  As part of the Evangelical Church, I have been surprised, and saddened, at the lack of concern that fellow believers have for the environment. The Church, as God’s representatives on earth, should not be indifferent to the state of His Creation.  The Church, of all people, should care for God's Creation, [...]

Harnessing Love

The day will come when, after harnessing the winds, the tides, and gravitation, we shall harness for God the energies of Love. And on that day, for the second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire. -Teilhard De Chardin Do not underestimate the energies of Love. Love holds the power to accomplish great good, however, [...]

Lessons in Loving

I recently had a revelation when reading in Mark 12 where Jesus is teaching his followers about the most important of all of the commandments.  Mark reads: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’There is no [...]

Pronouns

I had a curious conversation last week following my Inner-Light yoga class. A lovely woman, with whom I have recently been getting acquainted, attended my scripture yoga class for the first time.  She came up to me, after class, to discuss some insights that she thought might be helpful for me as a teacher.  She shared with me that she teaches trainings on [...]

Getting out of the way…

I want to tell you a secret...  I am afraid.  This process of writing my thoughts down for everyone to see, to read, to judge, to like (or dislike) and to understand (or misunderstand) is really very terrifying for me.  You see, I have come to this realization in the past months and years; I have a very strong [...]
