What is Getting Still?

Being Still does not mean don’t move. It means move in peace.

E’yen A. Gardener

Getting Still is the practice of setting distractions aside in order to draw near to the presence of God.

Our mission is to help people deepen their connection with themselves and with God in order to live a rich and abundant, Spirit-filled life.

Here we explore spiritual practices like Christ-centered yoga, meditation, and prayer to help us feel at home in our bodies, set distractions aside, and enter our own inner sanctuaries where we can experience peace and awaken to God’s presence.

Our online courses and trainings study the intersections of yoga philosophy and Christian theology to give you clarity around the practices of yoga and meditation from a Christian perspective.

Meet Kelly

A teacher at heart… Kelly is passionate about helping you find peace, awaken to God’s Presence, and live with purpose!

Are you ready?

…to feel at home in your body

… to deepen your connection with God

…to live the fullest expression of who you were created to be

Kelly McLellan will show you how.

Kelly Postle McLellan has been pondering the “deep and hidden things” for as long as she can remember…

Drawn to creativity, spirituality, and the mind-body connection, Kelly attended the University of Florida where she studied psychology and went on to receive a Masters in Health Science Education specializing in holistic health. It was here that Kelly was first introduced to yoga and discovered a new understanding of healing through her work with Arts in Medicine, a non-profit program that brought artists to the patients’ bedside at Shands Hospital.

As a lover of God and a follower of Christ, Kelly is a student of Jesus, studying his life and teachings, and learning how to walk with him in this world. She believes that “all truth is God’s truth” and is passionate about studying the Bible, as well as searching for Truth in unexpected places!

Kelly is the founder of Getting Still, leader of The Yoga Abbey, and a yoga teacher and trainer who teaches classes and courses exploring the intersections between the ancient yogic teachings and sacred Christian scriptures.

Also a writer, Kelly’s published works include the Postures of Prayer Yoga Deck, Journeying through the Chakras with Christ, and The Yoga Sutras through the Lens of Christ training curriculum, which she has taught at yoga teacher trainings at both the 200hr and 300hr level.

Kelly lives Black Mountain, NC with her husband. Recently retiring from her position of “homeschool mom”, she spends her newfound free time exploring what it means to “adventure with God” in this next season of life. When she is not teaching, or on her mat, you can find her hanging out with friends and family, gardening, getting creative, playing with her dogs or reading and contemplating life’s deepest questions. She and her husband belong to Valley Hope Church.

Getting Still Art Studio

Creativity has long been a way that humanity has sought to connect with the Divine and has always been a means to express belief and devotion. Whether through sculpture or song, paint or dance, artistic expression has the power to bypass the intellect and speak directly to the heart and soul. At Getting Still Studio we believe that creativity can be used as a tool for meditation, and prayer especially when words may get in the way.
